Robert Stone earned his B.A. in Anthropology with an additional concentration in German Studies at Columbia University in 2013 and received his M.A. from the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Virginia in 2015, where he wrote his MA thesis on the theme of judgment in Till Eulenspiegel. In the 2015-2016 academic year, he was a lecturer at TU Dortmund in the Ruhr region of Germany, where he taught four courses on a range of topics relating to American and German literary and cultural studies. He then went on to join the Harvard German Department in Fall 2016. His research interests are broad, focusing largely on narrative literature of the 19th Century, but also including such topics the relationships between 19th-century and Medieval texts and narratology.
