Dr. Sebastian Meixner will be a guest lecturer in German 229, a seminar on Goethe's novels, on November 15, during the regular classroom session.  He will speak on “The Narratology of Sequence (Folge): Closure & Continuation in Goethe's Lehrjahre.”  All are welcome to attend.

Dr. Meixner's work ranges from the attempt to historicize narratology in the Goethezeit back to the poetics of "excess" in Gottsched and forward to Gottfried Keller.  He is currently a visiting scholar at Columbia University.
