Fabienne Steeger is a Fulbright Visiting Student in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures during the 2023-24 academic year. She received her B.A. and M.Ed. in German Studies, Social Sciences and Educational Sciences, and her M.A. in Literary Studies at Bielefeld University. During her studies, she was a holder of the scholarship awarded by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). Since 2022, she has been a doctoral student and research assistant at the Institute of German Philology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. At Harvard, she is working on her doctoral thesis about autosociobiographical writing in the 1970s and 1980s. Her research interests include 20th-century and contemporary literature, narratives of social advancement and education, class theories, life-writing, and the interrelation of literature and society.
