Welcome, Professor Stirner!

Simone Stirner

We are delighted to announce that Simone Stirner, Ph.D. Berkeley, has just joined the German Department, coming from Vanderbilt University via a Research Fellowship in Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan. She is a scholar and teacher of German and Comparative Literature and works on 20th-Century and Contemporary poetry, German-Jewish studies, queer studies, and intersections of poetics and craft practices. This Fall, she is teaching “German Poetry Today” as well as a graduate seminar on “Creative Non-Fiction.” Please see her bio here.  And please come to meet her at the Department’s Fall Reception, September 4 from 4 to 6 pm in the Thompson Room!
